Revision of Irish Wind Energy Development Guidelines 2006

A study report released by the Irish Department of the Environment shows that, by the Government's own figures, a setback of at least 1,209 metres from a 175 m, 3.5 MW wind turbine is required.

New information in the form of a study report released by the Irish Department of the Environment on order of the Commissioner for Environmental Information shows that, by the Government's own figures, a setback of at least 1,209 metres from a 175 m, 3.5 MW wind turbine is required to underpin a 40 dB absolute limit.

This is a startling departure from the current regulations which require just 500 m!
